Ingredient supplier HP Ingredients turns 25 this year. The company was founded in 2001, debuting with LJ100, an extract of an herb called Tongkat Ali, known colloquially as Ali’s walking stick.

LJ100 was introduced to North America in 2003, and has become the world’s most clinically studied Tongkat Ali ingredient, with 43 studies, including 26 human clinical trials.

The company has built out a portfolio of ingredients over the past 25 years, and collaborates with botanical science experts to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of its lineup. The company works with Juan Hancke, PhD, on ingredients like ParActin, ParActin QuantumActiv, and NeuroActin, each of which are Andrographis paniculata extracts; and with Vincenzo Mollace, PhD, on Bergamonte, Citruslim, N.O. Max, and Bergacyn citrus extracts.

Other signature ingredients include IQ200 (Polygonum minus), Adapticort (Eurycoma longifolia), and MaquiCare (Aristotelia chilensis).

“The success of the past 25 years could not have been remotely possible without our team, both at our headquarters and abroad,” said Annie Eng, founder and CEO of HP Ingredients. “The knowledge that our ingredients, born and nurtured through devotion and continual research, have been helping people to live their best lives is humbling. It also serves as encouragement and motivation to continue for another 25 years.”
